Hello! I’m Patti O’Brien, a counseling intern at High Point Counseling with a background in education and a passion for helping others. I grew up in Ohio, where I earned my BS in Secondary Education from Ohio University. My career began with mentoring college students through a non-profit organization, and later as a social studies and intervention teacher, where I developed a deep understanding of the importance of connecting with and advocating for young people.

I shifted my focus to raising my own children. In 2016, my family and I moved to Sweetwater County, Wyoming. After spending some time reflecting on my own values and career path, I decided to pursue a Master’s in Counseling through the University of Wyoming. I am expected to graduate in May 2026. Throughout my training, I have discovered a strong passion for play therapy and person-centered therapy, both of which I find to be powerful tools in supporting clients.

My vision as a counselor is to provide a welcoming space where clients can explore themselves, discover their values, and embark on a journey toward self-empowerment. I aim to walk alongside my clients as they explore who they want to become and support them in achieving their goals.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, exploring libraries and bookshops, playing word games, and spending time in nature. I also love doing yoga, lifting weights, and spending quality time with my family, friends, and furry animals.
