Hi! My name is Taylor Draney and I am a counseling intern at High Point Counseling. I was born and raised in Green River, Wyoming, and am a graduate from Green River High School. Additionally, I graduated with my bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Sociology in December 2020 from the University of Wyoming, and am currently in my master's program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of Wyoming. I am expected to graduate in May 2026.
I am currently residing in Green River, Wyoming with my husky mixed breed dog, Stormy, and my two tortie cats, Doja and Cardi. I am an animal lover at heart, and find joy in spending time with my pets. Although I do not currently have any of my own children, I am a big sister to 11 younger siblings. I take pride in being an older sister, and enjoy spending time with my siblings and treating them like my own. I enjoy traveling, paddleboarding, skiing, floating the Green River, playing video games, attending concerts, shopping, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Throughout the last 5 years of my personal journey in the mental health and human services field, I have worked with at-risk juveniles in a residential treatment setting, children and vulnerable adults who have experienced abuse/neglect, and rehabilitating families to join together collaboratively and successfully after their child/children are removed from their home. Most of my background is directly related to trauma across all age groups.
I have a strong passion for helping individuals achieve success and become the best versions of themselves that they could possibly be. My counseling vision is to help clients find their voice when they are not feeling heard, speaking up for what they believe in, advocating for themselves in difficult situations, building autonomy, and overcoming past and current traumas and stressors in their lives. I strive to foster a safe and supportive space where clients from diverse backgrounds can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. Through dedication, empathy, and a commitment to growth and change, I aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve, helping them navigate their challenges and build a brighter, healthier future.
